Room 19 is growing!

We have had 4 new children start this week, taking our class from 7 to 11! A very big welcome to Jago, Willa, Joy and Henry. They have all really impressed me with their positive attitude and fantastic behaviour. Here they all are looking ready to go on their first day of school.

We love PMP on Monday with Nicole. This week we did cutting, picking up marbles with spoons, and a tricky obstacle course!

And finally, what a lovely sight this is! We went to the library on Monday to get new class books and had such a lovely time reading them to each other today.

Week 2 - what a week!

It was another busy week in Room 19 this week.

We had our first PMP session with Nicole and really enjoyed all the activities. All the tasks were set to help develop gross or fine motor skills and everybody gave it 100%.

We started our Inquiry this week and through lots of discussion about how we could make our School Environment more attractive, we decided we would focus on the New Zealand Native birds that visit our school and make it more attractive to them.

On Friday, during discovery time we did lots of activities around native birds to help us with our research.

We painted native birds and looked carefully at their size and colour.

We made bird masks and did research about birds using books from the library.

Come into class and see our work on the Inquiry wall!

A busy week so far...

Room 19 have already had a busy week and we have only been here for 2 days so far!

In maths we have been learning about numbers before and after. We played the before and after game and some children made their own number cards to challenge each other to find the missing number in their sequence.

On Tuesday we had a visit from Henry who will be joining us in Room 19 very soon - Welcome Henry!

Because we are learning the letter B, we baked some biscuits! We added butter, brown sugar, golden syrup and flour. Then we rolled them into balls and baked them in the oven. They were brilliant!

Keep and eye out for more learning!

Our first week in Room 19!

It has been a very busy week in Room 19.

On Monday, Seef, Ada, Jamie, Liam W, Liam J, Noah and Ianto all had their first day and really impressed me with how sensible, helpful and smiley they were 😊

Have a look at some of the cool things we have done:

- We made a number robot! We had to add the numbers on the buttons to make it work.
- We went Swimming for the first time on Wednesday at Kilbirnie Pool. It was heaps of fun!

- On Thursday we had 3 more children visit our classroom. They will be joining Room 19 in a week. We can't wait for Joy, Jago and Willa to join us!

- All week we have been learning about the letter "l". Today we sang a song called Leo the Lion and made Lion masks. ROAR!

I have been so impressed with Room 19 this week and can't wait to see what they can achieve next week.
Have a lovely long weekend and I will see you on Tuesday!
